General Characteristics

Environmental friendliness : FOR-12B, a ternary blend of 77%R134a/2%DME/21%CF3I, has been proven to be an environmentally safe refrigerant with zero ozone depletion potential(ODP) and low global warming potential(GWP). FOR-12B was approved for CFC-12 replacement by US Environmental Protection Agency(EPA)'s Significant and New Alternatives Program(SNAP) for its excellent performance.

Drop-in replacement : FOR-12B offers a similar volumetric capacity as CFC-12 enabling the use of CFC-12 compressors without any change due to similar thermodynamic properties as those of CFC-12.

Compatibility with mineral lubricant : After thousand hours of heavy load test, autoclave test and compatibility test with several lubricants in refrigerators and automobile air-conditioners and test rigs, no problem was found in all parts of a compressor and no degradation of mineral oil was shown. Also FOR-12B is fully compatible with a mineral oil of ISO viscosity grade 22 or 32 which is readily available from any local vendor.

Economic benefit in operation and maintenance : FOR12-B offers high energy efficiency and can bring a great saving for many applications.

High Energy Efficiency : FOR-12A provides 8.8% higher COP than CFC-12.
